My name is Sol. I am a student who is currently attending California State University, Northridge who will be earning his Bachelor's of Science in Computer Information Technology on May 2019. I am a person who has a passion for technology, video games, software development, web development, and problem solving using technology approaches. Whether it is developing a strategic plan on coming up with a infrastructual design, website design, or using my DevOp skills is something I take pride and passion in.
My personal philosophy on technology is that its a never-ending cycle because there is always something new being created that benefits society. Every single year, technology continues to grow, and it has yet to be running out of clever ideas. This is what makes technology special to me because it never ends. Whether it is developing an application, adding new updates to it, or developing new stragetic appraoches to business ideas, it always amazes people. I hope to some day grow my career with a company and create something that will benefit society.
In terms of work ethics, I take it seriously. I believe that in order for you to succeed and stand out, you need to push yourself. Success comes from your hard effort and ethics. Honestly, I believe many people in this field want the easy route, and simply chase after the money that it pays. Technology is a never-ending learning process and something to be passionate about. This is what makes people stand out.
Project Timeline: May 2017 - May 2017
This project was based on a use-case scenario imitating a real-world scenario where students were assigned the role as an IT project manager. Each student was given IT requirements to fufill and were required to hand in deliverables on proposing an IT infrastructure. Each project was given a budget to fufill the requirements. Students had to pick out what hardware will be needed for workstations, physical servers, storage, network hardware (switches, routers, etc.), and other necessities.Project Timeline: November 2017 - December 2017
This project was based on a use-case scenario where students acted as roles of being network adminstrators and were given a budget and network requirements to fulfill in order to meet a company's demands. This project involved picking particular hardware such as routers, switches, and APs(access points). Besides picking hardware, there were specific requests on where certain hardware and servers will be placed. This involved management of two buildings.Project Timeline: February 2018 - May 2018
This project involved creating a database from a conceptual and logical point of view using the Sqlite software to implement the final design. For our group's project, we created a database design based on the movie rental company Redbox. Our database design involved 12 tables consisting of customer information and movie information such as customer information, rental information, ratings information, awards information and detailed movie information. The data in this database design involved using real movie data from the IMDB datasets, which required parsing the data. All the schema diagrams and SQL implementations are included in the document.Live site - https://databaerecipes.com/

In this project we were assigned a task to develop an entire IT infrastructure from scratch. Each student was assigned in groups with roles to accomplish this task. Each group were given access to an in-class physical server that is running virtualization software (VMware) and allowed the use of a cloud environment (AWS). Currently, our physical server is running as a QA environment and SIEM environment that manages our website that is running on the cloud (AWS).
Software client for a major popular online video game
Project Timeline: February 2016 - August 2017
A standalone client that was reverse engineered and programmed in Java. The client was heavily obsfucated making it difficult for people to reverse engineer it. The client was used by hundreds of people in a closed community and managed by two developers. The client never reached its full potential or made it out of beta due to time constraints (school, work, etc.) and lost interest to playing the game.Project Timeline: March 2019 - present
Using my previous project's parsed datasets, I created a website in Laravel to search for top movies of all-time. You can also search for actors and directors.
